Film + Post YouTube

The next step is to record the video based on your asset.

This will take a lot of practice and time and effort to make it good. Don't re-record or worry. It will be terrible the first 10 or 50 or 100 times. It is called practice, and you need to be in it for the long-term.

I am not going to give you much instruction as you need to figure out something that will work for you and I don't want to put any guardrails up but I will give you some important tips.

Important

  • The number one thing you want to achieve is a "conversational tone." This is the secret to successful videos, and it is easier said than done. It takes practice, but always be relaxed and pretend you are talking to someone in real life.

  • Outside of the conversational tone, the three things you need to master are conviction, energy and pace. You need to say everything with absolute certainty, talk with way more energy than you would in real life, and focus on a nice pace that is easy to understand without talking too slow or too fast.

  • If you don't have lights, try and face a window for natural light. It will make you look way better.

  • Run the video through Auphonic after to enhance and optimize the sound. It will sound so much better even if your mic sucks.

Uploading

  • Make sure you have a thumbnail. It doesn't have to be good. I would recommend making it yourself and trying what works and what doesn't. You can A/B test these too.

  • Make sure the link to your lead magnet opt in page is in the first line of the description so people can see and click on it.

  • Make sure your lead magnet link is in your pinned comment.

  • Make sure the title is clickbait-y and isn't so long it gets cut off.
